Position Summary:

The Morgan lab at the MBL seeks a highly motivated individual to join the Eugene Bell Center for Regenerative Biology and Tissue Engineering as a Postdoctoral Researcher. The successful candidate will work on the neurobiology of Parkinson’s disease.

Additional Information:

The specific goal of the project is to elucidate the synaptic defects associated with Parkinson’s disease, to identify the underlying cellular and molecular mechanisms, and to design strategies for restoring synaptic function.

Basic Qualifications:

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Neurobiology or Cell Biology. Must have prior experience working in the field of cellular or molecular neurobiology, as well as experience with electrophysiology and/or live cell imaging. Must be independent, enthusiastic, self-motivated, productive, and enjoy working in a highly collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have direct experience with synapse biology, vesicle trafficking, and/or membrane biology. Previous experience with intracellular recordings, confocal microscopy, and/or cultured neurons would be a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Minimal exposure to biohazardous chemicals. Occasional lifting of heavy objects (<30 pounds).
